MUMBAI: The Union Government approved the integrated Mumbai Metro Line 5 and 5A project - 34.2 km and 19 stations at Rs 181.3 billion (about $2 billion) - extending the network into the Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan belt of the metropolitan region.
INDORE: Indore Metro's 11-km, 11-station priority corridor-2, built at about Rs 28.5 billion, opened in early September - growing the operational Yellow Line to roughly 17 km across 16 stations.
BERLIN: NCRTC showcased Namo Bharat, India's first regional rapid transit system, at InnoTrans 2026 as the 82-km Delhi-Meerut corridor crossed 45 million passenger journeys, with a single-day record above 168,000.
