BANGKOK: A new regional dashboard, the Asia Freight Decarbonisation Monitor, has gone live under GIZ's Bangkok-based TUEWAS network - the first systematic tool to compare freight decarbonisation progress across China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam.
An initiative of the TF-Green Freight Asia task force, delivered under GIZ's Changing Transport programme and commissioned by Germany's BMUKN through the International Climate Initiative, the monitor was developed by Cities Forum with IT support from katha.media. It tracks freight CO₂, fleet electrification, charging and refuelling infrastructure, market readiness and 133 policies across five domains, built on the Asian Transport Observatory national database - and every dataset goes onto the open Transport Data Commons under a CC BY licence. An "Intelligent Report" feature lets users question the data in plain language. More on its AI layer, Page 6.
Alongside the dashboard, the project delivers a guidance document on charging infrastructure for zero-emission freight, with India as the primary case; the monitor's figures will be refreshed through year-end.
