MINNEAPOLIS: Minnesota's Metro Transit announced on September 26 that the Green Line Extension - the Southwest LRT serving Minneapolis, St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Eden Prairie with 16 new stations - will open on June 12, 2027. The announcement closes a chapter of roughly fifteen years of delays and cost overruns since the project was first approved, one of American transit's longest-running sagas.
