MAHIKENG: South Africa's North West province is to spend about R1 billion rectifying stalled and defective state housing projects that have left families in shacks despite years of spending. The Human Rights Commission announced on September 23 an investigation into the human-rights impact of delays in developing and upgrading the province's informal settlements.
